Sky Sports Mistakes Lee Camp for Chile Manager

 

Monday evening, 6th February 2023 saw a unique incident where Sky Sports personnel, covering the game between Wigan and Blackburn, mistook a Championship veteran for Eduardo Berizzo, the manager of the Chile national team. Though this blunder made the news, however on close inspection the Chile manager does not resemble the Championship player whom the Sky Sports personnel mistakenly talked about. Indeed, it was a blunder that is rare and left the Sky Sports team red-faced. 

 

The fans in the international football community were however speechless at this turn of events. The event being talked about is the game between Wigan and Blackburn which took place on 6th February 2023, Monday which ended in a goalless draw. During the filming camera zoomed in on someone among the spectators and had the tag of Berizzo’s name on it. It also showed a badge for the national team Chile. WOLVES REPORTEDLY EYEING DEAL FOR CHILE INTERNATIONAL YOUNGSTER DARIO OSORIO

Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to be eyeing a move for Chilean teenager, Dario Osorio, according to recent reports. As per the Express and Star, the Midlands side are said to be ‘interested’ in a potential swoop for the highly-rated 18-year-old, with the Premier League side currently ‘monitoring his progress’. The reports outlined that any suggestion that a deal has already been completed is ‘wide of the mark’, although the Universidad de Chile sensation is currently a player on their radar, with a January move not out of the question.

This follows recent reports in his homeland that suggested the exciting winger has already been sold to the Old Gold, with the possible fee believed to be in the region of €6m (£5.4m), while links to the wide man also stretch back to the summer window. EVERTON INCH CLOSER TO SIGNING BEN BRERETON DIAZ FROM BLACKBURN ROVERS

According to 90 min, Everton are inching closer to signing Ben Brereton Diaz before the summer transfer deadline as Frank Lampard eyes key attacking reinforcements. Blackburn Rovers could be open to accepting the Toffees’ reported proposal worth £20 million, with the striker in his last year. Everton are seeking necessary attacking reinforcements before the summer transfer window shuts down. Frank Lampard is keen to bolster his squad following increased speculation surrounding the future of Anthony Gordon. Moreover, they have lost Dominic Calver-Lewin to injury, and Richarlison has joined Tottenham.

Lampard started the season’s first three games without a recognised striker, with Anthony Gordon occupying the false-nine role. With the 21-year-old being relentlessly pursued by Chelsea, Everton may use some of the funds from his potential sale to bring in new players.Brighton & Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay is reportedly close to joining Everton, but Lampard may look to bring in another striker before the window closes. ALEXIS NEGOTIATING INTER EXIT – REPORT

Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez is negotiating his exit from the Italian Serie A club according to reports in the media in Italy. The specific report from Milan-based newspaper La Gazzettadello Sportstated that the Chile international is on the way out of Inter Milan this summer and that the likeliest outcome is a severance package for the ex-Arsenal and Manchester United attacker.


Chile national team star Alexis has one year left on his current deal with the Nerazzuri, but it has been clear for sometime that he’s not in the long-term plans of manager Simone Inzaghi. As things stand, the 33-year-old will leave Inter Milan this summer by mutual consent. The Nerazzuri have already boosted their attacking options this summer with the loan signing of Belgian international RomeluLukaku. The 29-year-old is back at Inter Milan after one year at Chelsea. The Belgian striker didn’t have the best of times in his second spell at Chelsea last season after the West London giants paid around £97m to sign him from Inter Milan last summer. Inter Milan paid a loan fee of £8m to sign him on a temporary deal for one season without the option of signing him on a permanent deal. (more…)

ALEXIS FACING UNCERTAIN INTER FUTURE

Chile national team star Alexis Sanchez is facing an uncertain future at Italian Serie A side Inter Milan with reports in the media saying that the former Barcelona and Manchester United forward will leave the Nerazzuri this summer.


Inter Milan are preparing to revamp their squad in the attacking positions especially. Argentine international Paolo Dybala and Belgian international star RomeluLukaku could sign for the club this summer. (more…)

                       CHILE WANT FIFA TO KICK ECUADOR OUT OF 2022 WORLD CUP

A World Cup legal dispute flared on Thursday with Chile challenging Ecuador’s place at the finals tournament over an alleged ineligible player. The Chilean football federation asked FIFA to investigate its claim that Ecuador player Byron Castillo is actually Colombian and not entitled to have played in qualifying games. The complaint comes more than one month after South American qualifying ended and Ecuador were drawn into a group with host nation Qatar, Holland and Senegal.


FIFA gave no timetable for a possible disciplinary case ahead of the World Cup kicking off Nov. 21. Ecuador finished fourth in the 10-nation South American qualifying group to advance directly to Qatar. Fifth-place Peru has a play-off game next month against Australia or the United Arab Emirates. CHILE ON TWO-MATCH LOSING RUN

Two-time South American champions Chile are on a two-match losing run after suffering defeat in each of their last two matches on the international football scene. The Chileans won’t be going to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament mainly due to those two defeats. It must be pointed out that the defeats for the Chileans came in the final two qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup in the South American region.

Chile came into their final two World Cup qualifiers with the opportunity to secure qualification to the tournament on Qatari soil. Their qualification hopes took a massive hit when they were thrashed by hosts Brazil in the first of the two qualifiers. Brazil thumped Chile 4-0 at home with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Neymar getting one of the goals. Neymar scored the first goal of the game via a spot kick before Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior doubled the advantage almost immediately. The penalty goal from Neymar came with a minute left on the clock, while Vinicius added a second goal in the first minute of added time. The Brazilians extended their advantage in the second half through the goals from Aston Villa playmaker Philippe Coutinho (penalty) and Everton attacker Richarlison. (more…)

CHILE FACING CRUCIAL BRAZIL, URUGUAY GAMES

Two-time South American champions Chile are in serious danger of not qualifying for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament ahead of the last set of qualifiers in the South American section.


Chile are in need of wins to boost their qualification hopes ahead of tough games against Brazil and Uruguay. The Chileans are two points outside the inter-confederation playoff spot ahead of their trip to face hosts Brazil and the home game against Uruguay. (more…)

CHILE FACE IMPORTANT ARGENTINA, BOLIVIA QUALIFIERS

Two-time Copa America champions Chile have a lot of work to do if they are to realise their quest of being one of the 32 teams at this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar. Chile are currently out of the first five spots that could lead to qualification as far as the South American section is concerned. The first four teams at the end of the qualifying campaign in the South American region will go straight to Qatar 2022, while the fifth-placed team has to go through the inter-confederation playoffs to qualify for the tournament. As things stands, Chile are in seventh spot on the ten-team table and with a lot of work to do to be one of the top five teams.

With four games left to play for all teams except the first two teams namely Brazil and Argentina, Chile are just a point off Peru in fifth place and even Colombia in the last automatic place (fourth place). To this effect, they can definitely salvage the situation. Colombia and Peru in fourth and fifth respectively have 17 points, while Uruguay and Chile in sixth and seventh respectively have 16 points.

CHILE TARGET FOURTH SUCCESSIVE QUALIFYING WIN

Chile have been able to rescue their World Cup 2022 tournament hopes in their last three games as far as the South American qualifiers are concerned. The Chileans had a poor record of seven points from their first ten games in the qualifiers and they were far from the top four places that would guarantee a place at the tournament in Qatar. Chile have gone through a renaissance in their last three qualifiers. A run of three successive wins has taken Chile to fourth place on the standings ahead of the final five games. The Chileans arepresently in a position that would take themto the tournament automatically.

Chile can make it four wins in a row against Ecuador when the two teams meet at the Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Tuesday night. An home win over the Ecuadoriansin the matchday 14 clash would seal fourth place for Chile and also move them within one point of their opponents in third place.When the two teams met earlier on matchday six, they played out a goalless draw.
